Dota Pro Circuit DPC SEA 2021/2022 Tour 2: Division I: Overview

The Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) is a professional tournament format system for the competitive five-on-five video game Dota 2. It was introduced in 2017 by Valve, the game’s developer, to determine which teams are worthy of a direct invitation to The International, Dota 2’s top annual championship. The DPC replaced the previous Dota Major Championship series (2015–2016), which was criticized for Valve’s lack of consistency and openness in giving invitations to The International.

A sponsored Dota 2 event with two teams from North America, South America, Southeast Asia, China, Europe, and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), a minimum prize pool of $500,000 (to which Valve provides $500,000), and LAN finals are known as a “Major” in the Dota Pro Circuit. There is also a “Minor” championship tier that meets the same criteria but with a prize pool of $150,000.

Prize Pool and DPC Distribution

Teams competing in the Dota Pro Circuit DPC SEA 2021/2022 Tour 2 are battling out for Dota Pro Circuit points. It is significant to earn these points as soon as possible because, in most cases, only two direct invites from the region will be awarded for The International 11. To qualify for the event, teams must compete in other tournaments or play in The International Wildcard

Tournament Format

• The participating teams are consisting of six (6) teams from Division I of the previous tour and two (2) teams from Division II of the previous tour
• Round-robin format
• Every match is a best-of-three
• Teams in 1st through 3rd position are qualified for ESL One Stockholm 2023
• For the upcoming tour, the first to sixth place teams will remain in their present category
• For the next tour, the bottom two teams are relegated to Division II
